Oh...i see. I run a fogger plus have peat in there that I soak down with a garden sprayer. I try to keep it in the 80% but sometimes it does go to 70%... i think he burrows in the peat to get moisture too. It helps soften the skin. :)

Harnesses for small tegus (niles is 18")

Yes.cat or ferret ones. I guess they are adjustable. Niles thrashes around with the vest kind and backs out of it like I'm killing him. Haha. So I'm going to try the others. I think I'll put it on him in the house free roaming first to get used to it...then gradually try the leash.

Harnesses for small tegus (niles is 18")

I'm going to, at some point, get one like Laura had suggested. It has just a simple cord/strap around neck area and around middle area. People on here do seem to have more success with this type of harness than with the vest one that i got. I guess less is more. They probably don't feel so...

Are there any outside bugs that can be bad for tegus? I'm not sure. I know ants are bad, like when they got into my tarantula tank. But maybe he is just getting used to the new smells and textures etc. (?)

    Cleaning under hides

Just looking for some input/what others do... with a basking shelf that the tegu uses as a hide, how do you clean under there and how often? Niles normally chooses to poop on the cool side of enclosure. This is easy to see and i just spot clean. Now he has made a dirt wall blocking off the shelf...

Can Somebody Please Help Me Out So My Dad doesnt get pissed

You're very welcome. I can't take credit for the original bed idea. Someone on a thread somewhere here did it. I'm sure you could create a modified bunk bed or similar structure fairly easily. And the mattress on top. My only thought was that the heat from enclosure 'might ' be uncomfortable in...

Oh ok. So earthworms wouldn't cut it then... i can't put roaches...they'd get out and into my home :( very cool though. Nature indoors :)

Roaches are that way right? However my enclosure isn't tightly sealed and i wouldn't want them escaping into my home
