Yes. She was huffing at her. Not in an aggressive manner, but like in a display-type of way. Just like in the videos I researched. The biting is quite soft as well, like she is trying to be gentle, yet affirmative. The behavior is identical to the breeding videos I've seen online.
I guess I'll...
Hey everyone!!
Some of you may know me from youtube.com/tenacious tee, my famous little tegu "Teeju"
I've had my big girl Teeju going on 4 years now. She is active, healthy, all the above.
As some of you also may know I have a smaller female tegu named "Ninja" whom I've had for just over a...

Just watched the video bobby... very sad. I'm hoping she does not have to be put down and hopefully can make a bit of a turn around given a better living situation now.
I really hope more people see the video, poor lil tegu :(
I'm going to change all my UV tubes after seeing this, I don't...
Re: Don't be
eat them?! I can't imagine a tegu tasting very nice but glad you saved her! Have you kept any reptiles before? Do you have an enclosure being setup?

Beautiful Tegus as always bobby ;)

wow, a wild caught tegu! very lucky... I feel a little saddned she is wild caught.... but hopefully we can help you give her a perfect life if keeping her is what you are intending on doing :)
I know this is a bit older of a post... but any updates on this guy? Very peculiar looking, hopefully he has a great life from here on out and it would be interesting to see if he grows back into that head so to speak.
Updates??
So it's November already, and a few weeks ago I began raising my temps/daylight hours and began feeding my tegus again.
One is a yearling male, I thought if anything I could get him to go under but the most I got him to go away for was a day and he'd be out again. This went on and on again...
I think the tanks you see in the vid (the lit up ones) were my baby beardies (two that I am selling for someone) and there was my columbian tegu in one of the tanks. As well as the two 10gs next to me housed my oscillated skink & maddie my northern alligator lizard who just had babies the night...

I recently posted a question about introducing Argentine Tegus of different sizes together... so to follow up on that:
Here is Bones & Teeju's first meeting caught on video!!
Bones is about 1/3 of Teeju's size, despite the difference there was absolutely no aggression, discomfort, and...
