My male is 2 years old, he didn't hibernate last year and he's still up this year even though it's pretty cold and dark here in Sweden. Previous owner said that he just ate a little less during last winter and got a little more inactive. He's still pretty active this year though, a little picky...

No, he does this randomly. Even if he's just eaten a big meal, or on the days when he doesn't eat at all. (I haven't had him for very long, he's still a little picky with his food and some days he just ignores it. He does not get overly excited with food.) And he does the same thing in his tank...
My 2 year old male jumps, the previous owner said that he started jumping towards his heat lamps and he started doing that here too. Anyone with tegus that does the same thing? I feed him in the bathroom and lately he's started to randomly jump in the shower as well. He starts to walk around...
Yeah, I think you're right.. Clearly he isn't associating handling with anything positive. He's clearly not that afraid of people, I can walk up to the enclosure and open it and he just looks at me, relaxed. It's the minute I try to approach him that he flips out.
