    Substrate poll

I have a mix. I think it was 6 bags of soil, 2 bags of sand, 1 bag of peat moss, and 1/2 a bag of bark chips. All natural with no pesticides/fertilizers of course. This is home to a whole host of critters now, and at one point was growing grass (I seeded it, but tegu moved in and killed...

Mine's the same - his water dish is just a toilet. The only other time he'll poop is right after coming out of his enclosure.

So I immediately set out to design an enclosure...

    Hello from Canukida

Thank you very much! It has been extremely rewarding to work with him - at least on the good days. There's also been some bad days; I've already got a few minor scars. I definitely still have a ton to learn about working with him and I'm really not looking forward to the first time I mess up...

    Hello from Canukida

Hello. My name is Melanie and I am a reptile addict. (Insert room of people saying "Hello, Melanie"). I'm a new tegu owner in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and I figured I should stop in and learn more about my newest charge. I have had reptiles for about a decade now - mostly blue tongue skinks...
