Looks very Chacoan to me. Chacoans seem to be more mottled/grainy in their patterns, they also don't seem as brownish dorsally as normal B&W's.
BTW, my Jango has the "V" and she's a "normal.
When Jango was in a 40 breeder, I had a screen top wich I blocked off about 75% with cardboard. I also taped brown paper all the way around about 6" tall so she wouldn't fight with the glass or be stressed out by the cat.
Jango poops in her feed box right after eating. She also gets a soak in the tub a couple times a week. Her poop is normal smelling (bad) as long as I don't feed her livers, liver poop is... well... like Tegu poop mixed with rotten livers..
So... I guess Brutus is a boy ;)
Ya gotta watch them when they're roaming. Like a baby, they like to investigate things with their mouths. They especially like shiny metallic things. They'll eat all your spare change.
The general consensus seems to be that you should be able to see the spurs/scales at 6 months or so, and at around 2' in length. I was hoping that Jango was a boy because the spurs usually show at 2'. But most Gu's aren't 2' until 6 months or later. Jango was 2' at about 2 months, so I was...
Oh yes, Jango has gotten quite a bit wider. I also noticed that her growth has been mostly SVL, almost as if her tail has stopped growing in length. Jango seems to constantly have shed hanging off of her. She loves to be rubbed on her face and jaw to get the pieces off. She looks like a cat...
Female.
BTW, my Jango is 5 months old and 38", a super fattie, and an absolute peach. She's most likely to end up a pretty big girl. I wouldn't put too much faith in those who say males are this or females are that. On average, males get bigger than females, but I've seen some pretty small...
Jango's slowed a little feeding and growth. She's been at 38" for about 3 weeks now, she just seems to be getting wider, and she eats about 1/2 as much as she did a few weeks ago. She still wants to roam a little, but only for a few minutes, then she looks for a place to hide.
I wonder how many...
Jango's is 8' L x 40" W x 30" T. She has plenty of room and seems pretty content in it. Even if she gets over 4', I can't imagine her needing more room. She spends a lot of her time out of her cage, either in her pen or roaming around, but she always seems happy to be back in her cage.
Jango's an absolute peach also. When she's in the tub, she'll crawl over to my hands, lay her head on one and doze as I rub her on her head and cheeks. She'll let me turn her upside down to check her for leftover shed and make sure she's growing OK. Ever since she was a baby, I've picked her up...
