I'm no expert by any means. But I recently got a Tegu and experimented with different basking temperatures.
My Tegu initially had a basking temp of 105 but after reading about how Tegu's enjoy anywhere from 110-120 basking temps I upped my her basking spot to 118ish (Like you).
