you would be suprised how big a mouse/rat a tegu can eat, if its devouring pinkies try hoppers, if it eats hoppers fine, try adult mice, then move your way up to small rats ect as your GU gets bigger.
I know mine stay either dug in or on the cool side of their cage alot more now that its heated up, around 100-110 here every day, lowest it gets is about 95 during the day and bout 84 at night, very humid round 70% constant.

Well there is always a "possibility" of fighting when you mix animals even of the same species.

Well, I'd have to say Tegu's are much more impressive, they are smart and get large.
they also have huge personalities and dont change tempermant, unless they are really hungry, shedding or guarding eggs id have to say they are very nice animals if kept properly.
