This is day 65, a little longer than normal. But I waited 7 weeks from the first copulation before she laid!!

Blue Tegu's don't hatch with green heads, they start out black & gold and lighten to black & white with every shed. They get the bluish tint at about 18 months as they become adults. The Blues have the trademark "burnt" nose, "teardrops" under the eyes and thicker black bands down their sides.

8. 1 seems to have a kink in it's spine and another is a bit smaller than the rest, so they will be held back for a while to see how they do.

Sorry I haven't posted an update in 10 days. Been busy.

They sure do grow fast!! They must be doubling their weight every week! I'll take some new pics soon.

Last week I added some finely chopped strawberry to the hatchlings turkey. The little buggers picked all the strawberry out first!! I thought Blue Tegu's don't eat fruit! :roll: NOT!! Our adults love strawberry & blue berries.

With a few exciting moments, the first batch of hatchlings have made it to their new homes. Hopefully they will post some pics of them (if they haven't already). The next ones will go out Monday.

Only 2 left!

Time to go feed them!
