Can blue tegu hibernate like at this size? with pics

hi everybody, i just got a blue tegu baby from SD reptile show. i dont know how old he is but from his color it is very young.
is it fine to let him hibernate if he wants at this time? thank you

tegus can and will hibernate their 1st year.

When I got my black and white last May he hibernated until mid January this year and he was ok

yea, for me it is like a month old hatchling that just had his first shed.

thank you, i know tegus can hibernate at first year without a problem but most tegus hatch out around before or after Julyvand they grow till around November.
but for this one, i felt like he was just hatched out less then 1 1/2 month.

thank you, he doesnt look like he wants to hibernate. he ate 28 waxworms, about 5 crickets and some turkey yestoday lol.
