CITES and Customs might have a problem with that!

I don't think they are on the do not ship list but I am sure they are on lists though.

b/w and reds come up all the time but blues are impossible to find more of

Do some research on your end and see what it would take. I think I would need an export license but I don't know. If I can do it, I will!!!

If you can Dave you better send me one to! :) That would be sweet if you could send a few over. Expand our bloodlines as far as expanding goes with blues. That would be a pretty awesome Christmas present :D

Well I figured I may as well try and help. So here is what I've come up with so far.

Import/Export info
http://www.reptilescanada.com/forums/sh ... hp?t=15959

Possibly the CITES Export Permit
http://www.fws.gov/forms/3-200-24.pdf

Roughly half way down is where Tegus are listed, there Appendix 2, It applies to all types of tegus
http://www.cites.org/eng/app/E-Jul01.pdf

I hope some of that is useful, I think the very first link will be the most helpful.

Oh darn... forgot about that, if you register its free and you can see everything. Its actually incredibly useful and the guy who wrote it, Roy Stockwell knows almost everything when it comes to CITES, Export/Import info and pretty well everything else lol

Thanks Spencer , I was just going to attack the shop owner I know and see what I could beat out of him hehehe

Big thing with Blues is that I have not found any other Canadians with them .... and would love to have more up here.

now on to proposal....
I am thinking if we could ship all the critters to the closest Canadian to Dave first and and house them for awhile to make any cross country trips easier on them... are you capable of something like that? I have 8 empty front slider tanks right now so I can house a whole herd every easy.

Oh yea and Dave thanks for even considering this idea too eh your the first American I have communicated with that has even given it thought.

Yes Dave, thanks for even considering the idea. I realize its probably quite the hassle though unless you starting trying to breed the blues every year or breeding some of your other tegus. Another thing that would become useful is if you would allow Bobby to send his tegus to you and then you could ship them to us. Of course there would be a higher price to pay for the double shipping and to pay for there "re-coop" time at your place whether that be a day or whatever. I'll work on getting all the links up from the first page I posted and I'll make another thread for it. That way if you have joined you can look at it and so can everyone else.

DaremoAlpha, personally I would love to "hold" them but I'm sure my parents would have something to say about it. It would depend on how many I would be taking care of for the amount of time. I don't think my parents would have a problem with it until we start to get into numbers higher then 4. I'll have to ask and see how it goes with them before I can agree to anything though.

Seems Dave is straight south of me so I could house them here and redirect to you and like I said I have an abundance of tanks and equipment here to accommodate them as well.

If I had a passport I may have already been knocking on doors.... hello are you Dave ... hello mis are you Dave hahaha

I think you might be mixing up states DA lol Connecticut is on the east coast of the US.

How many would you plan on ordering? I know I plan on getting one so that isn't that big of a deal. Is there anyone else you know that would be getting one?

On a side note, are you a member on www.ReptilesCanada.com ? I have been for a while and its super useful there is a ton of guys who have been in the hobby for 10+ year even a guy who has been in it for 29 years lol.

I am a member although I don't go there often.
I am a member of TARAS out here too and have taken some of my monsters out to public demonstrations.

Jake my big blk/wht was a hit at the humane society during kids camps along with other members bringing other cool animals as well.

As for the map .... maybe this dumb trucker was looking at colerado???????? hmmm that sucks hehehe

as for numbers I am tossing around the idea of 3-4 since they are unsexed it gives a good chance of potential mates for both of mine and reduces chances of jealousy hahaha

We've been busy all day. Ottowa is a 7 hour drive for us, but I don't have a passport. PP could drive just over the border and meet us but I don't know what the border people would do to him when he crosses back.

Thats what I was thinking of as well, I could just pick them up. I could try and smuggle them across but I don't wanna take the chance of getting one of those random searchs... I'll talk to some people and see what they know.

This may be the last week to get one!!! A friend has gotten us some space on a table at next Sunday's reptile show. She's spreading the work with the dealers and I expect we will sell a few (or more!) of them. We're going to hold back 4 or 5 and trade 1 with wil to get a semi-unrelated breeding pair for 3 years from now. Once we're sure of the sex we'll sell a couple of the holdbacks. There's no guarantee will have any next year.

Anyone who was thinking of getting one should make their decision now, or risk there not being any available in a week.
