Darts for nothing

I just got my baby red tegu Chucky yesterday i put him ina 55 gallon tank with 2 hides and mulch substrate i go in he darts from me i fed him today 2 horn worms and some mango and ground turkey and some large crickets dusted in heptivite with beta carotene and calcium with vitd ultrafine powder i want him to be super tamed what can i do to just get him out he just darts fron me do i just get him even if he puts on a fight i heard never do that any advice

Most young tegus are flighty for a while. If you try to tong feed him or put an article of clothing in his cage it will get him used to your scent and that youre not a threat.
