DIY Enclosure questions

My little guy is still a baby (not sure how old but he's about 10" long) and currently in a 125 gallon tank. I am working on building his full enclosure and sketching the layout/what I need and want to get everything right the first time (I hope!). Is insulating something that is suggested? My idea was to make the frame and put a sheet of plywood on outside and inside of the frame and insulate between. The enclosure will be inside and my house stays around 70 degrees. Is insulation an overkill?

I don't have any insulation because my lights handle the temps for a cool side thru to a warm side and hot basking area. Not saying you can't do it, but I don't hear of anyone else doing it.

I'm dialing in temps on my two Tegu's forever cage. It's an 8 x 3 ft horse trough. Durable and light weight. When broken down can be dragged outside for hosing down occasionally. Expanded metal top. Surrounded with the insulation my rodents from Layne Labs come in plus that shiny bubble wrap insulation on two thirds of the top. A foot of cypress mulch on the warm side. Pothos hanging off of it for aesthetics.
