I know this sounds silly but where can I get egg crates to start up the roach colony?

Besides buying tons and tons of eggs just to get the crates of course.

A few people I know have ordered from these guys with success <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://superiorenterprise.com/index.php?cPath=49&osCsid=331aecb900e11279bf1a10d53080e0e6">http://superiorenterprise.com/index.php ... d53080e0e6</a><!-- m -->

I get mine for free from the bakery across the street :)

You can also use the insides of paper towels and tp.

Thanks puff,

Also i've noticed that most the websites that sell roaches ship through priority mail (2-3 days), being that the weather is cold here right now.. low 30's.. do you think the roaches would die in the shipping process or is it a better idea to just wait and order in the spring?

I personally don't know but you could talk to whoever you are going to buy them from. They should have a good idea on the subject. They are pretty hardy and I think they would make it. I had a shipment come in about a months ago when it was high 40s to 50s. They were more than fine.
