I want to make a savannah monitor cage outside so in the summer when i clean his cage i can put him ther and he can chill, or just anytime in the summer if he wants to chill outside. But im not sure how high the walls have to be so he doesnt climb out, does 3 feet high sound good?

Where do you live? I advise against trying to keep monitors outdoors personally. It takes a lot of experience and there are lots of risks.

Agreed. To the OP - do you have any previous experience with monitors? If not, do all your research. I already saw a few of your threads when you were trying to decide between a tegu and a savannah monitor. Whenever you do decide, check out http://savannahmonitor.net/ for some great care tips.

I wouldn't go too high with the walls. You don't want to block too much of the sun. Check out this link. http://www.riobravoreptiles.com/howto_outdoor.htm

I am making Gwangi a 12x12 based on that site. But with a door and a wire mesh upper part to keep cats, hawks, and racoons out. It will be tall enough to stand up in.
