Hi everybody. I have gotten a young tegu from somebody. He/she is roughly 14 inches, is probably older than i think he/she is, had a broken toe when i got him/her about a month ago (half of it has since fallen off at the break), and she is missing several nails. This tegu, named Blue, just went through a (almost) full shed. I know how to remedy malnutrition and care, but there are two concerns/questions i have.

1. The person i got this animal from doesn’t seem to know what species it is. At this age i am unsure myself. Appears to be Argentine rather than Columbian, and i was told it was a red tegu but then later a pink tegu. If you need me to take better pics let me know. Any idea would be appreciated.

2. That reddish color on the inner front legs was not there a couple weeks ago. Is that a development since the animal is now getting proper food and uvb? Thanks in advance!
