It really depends on how they're stored. If stored in air tight freezer bags with the air removed from them, the USDA has confirmed them to survive 1 year before nutrients start breaking down. I store mine in freezer paper (to keep their claws from piercing the plastic bags), then put the wrapped rats in a Handi-Vac storage bag, then suck the air out with the Handi-Vac pump. Absolutely eliminates freezer burn.
