Full disclosure I work in a pet shop. We rescued a Red Tegu, who was never handled, she had gotten scared enough to drop her tail when they were trying to soak her for stuck shed. She is very aggressive, and approximately 7 months old.
What would be the best course of action on changing that behavior, in a safe way for her. I have bought anti-bite gloves but I don't want to stress her out. So far, I have picked her up daily, and held her for about 10 min periods. As well as tidying up her cage <with bite gloves on> while she's in there. Any further advice?
