Tegu breaths loudly when eating?

Hi everyone, I have had many reptiles however I recently took in a tegu as a rescue and he does something I’ve never seen any other reptile do. When he eats he sounds sorta weird? It’s almost like he is breathing loud or almost a snorting sound? It doesn’t seem to affect his eating ability because he does eat like a champ, I’m just unsure why he eats so loud or if it’s normal.
I do have a vet appointment scheduled soon as just a check up, so if this is something important I should bring up let me know!
