so my girlfriend was staying with me for two days and her reptiles were left alone for about a day total. We were watching a video on some snake and it was talking about how they were escape artists. I got a bad feeling about our Tegu and thought what if it escaped.. we just got back to her house and low and behold, Tegu enclosure was empty... we were looking everywhere for her and glanced right next to the tank and low and behold... sitting right next to her tank there she is! Step 1 complete.

Now this is a very aggressive 8 month old Tegu. Step 2 was trying to put her back in the tank. We picked her up and she jumped away and was skittering around the room. Every time we’d try and catch her the tail whip and jump came at us. She eventually tired herself out and was safely put back in her home (now with added weights on the lid lol)
