Hi,

This has likely been discussed before, but I couldn't find this information. I'm curreny designing my tegu enclosure. The enclosure will have a section of deep substrate (1 foot deep), which will also be the location of the hide. Should this area be on the hot or cool end of the enclosure? I.e. should it be near the basking area or away from the basking area?

Is there an ideal temperature for the hide or substrate to be?

The hide should be on the opposite side of the basking area so that the tegu can sleep in coolness= 70s on summet, low 60s in winter.
