Trouble getting basking temps

I have an 8x4x4 enclosure and I'm having trouble getting basking Temps up to 110. I have the cool side between 75-78 with a che. But between a mvb and a che I can't get my basking spot up to temp. I tried experimentally to bring my basking spot closer and closer until it reached 110 and 8 inches away and its still only at 100. SolarBrite 160 MVB and 100 watt che on hot side for basking along with a 24" arcadia t5 thats on backorder. And a 100 watt che on the cool side mounted flush with the top of the enclosure to provides steady temp for the enclosure. What needs to change. I've also tried the red 150 watt basking bulbs without much luck, and the red light kinda puts me off of them. I'll save them for the chicken house.

Yes, raise the substrate, add more of it and make use of all that space. That's an empty box you have the ability to create levels and different zones in there. Do some research on dimmable non-LED flood lights, too. Also, look at what other people have created on this forum for reference, or any other similar site for that matter. You could easily build a thick 2-foot substrate platform and put a big flat stone on it under the basking area and use the dimmer to dial it in. Long story short, fill that box up and put it to some good use. You aren't fighting a huge battle aside from the fact that your substrate layer looks like it's for a rose-haired tarantula.

P.S. make sure you are researching the best type of substrate 'mixes' to use for these guys. That looks like dry coco husk and not very humid, only from what is visible. Not saying you haven't done this already, but sand makes for a strong humidity holder and burrowing aide.
