Urine smell

i have had my Tegu for two weeks now and our whole downstairs smells like urine. I have been sifting out urates and poop everyday, but it’s not helping. I added valcanic rocks to her substrate, but that isn’t working either. What can I do to eliminate the smell?

Uhh I’ve never had this issue it either smells like poop or nothing are you sure you’re not smelling mildew

What kind of substrate are you using?

Lol yeah tegu stuff smells soooo bad. Nothing like urine. You may be confusing a mild mildew odor with urine as they do smell similar. Check your cage look at any wood products that touch the substrate directly. You may find a white hair looking patch here or even on the substrate its self. Also if its downstairs... I would assume you also have a ventilation issue.
