Will tegus go for pet parrots as lunch?

I have a baby tegu and I'm debating on how I'm going to setup his adult habitat. Would they go after parrots in a full room size enclosure if the parrots are roosting 8 feet or higher up?

When the Tegu is small, he will be afraid of the bird eating him. The bird is a predator in his/her eyes. When the tegu gets large, it will think of the bird as pray. Even when my 2yr old red outside, she gets freaked out by the sound of the birds, dogs, trucks...

The tegu needs about 60% humidity, idk how well a parrots would do in the same environment needs as a tegu...
