My Tegu has been coming out less and less on his own lately. The only problem is I have to disturb him quite frequently. His favorite place is under his big stone waterbowl. Ive moved the bowl location 3 times just to make sure. And wherever that bowl is, he will dig under it and make a burrow...
I tried giving my Tegu about a hand full of meal worms just to change it up for him. The bowl is one special made to keep them in. So I just put it in his terrarium with him. Well he knocks them over. They burrowed and now I have beetles. I dont know the exact number but quite a few. Do I need...
I know this is common. And I have to persevere and just keep it up. But anytime Nuova is out on his basking spot. Ill try to open the top of the terrarium and talk to him a bit. Then ill try to pick him up. He starts breathing pretty hard and darting away. Im trying find the fine line between...
Hes
Hes doing great so far. My only concern would be eating right now. Hes eating but ate like 6 crickets the first day. About 4 today. I thought they were supposed to eat alot more?
His(im assuming its a he til otherwise) name is Nuova.
He was very active right out of the container. When I got him im his new home he climbed to the basking spot and started rubbing the top of his head against the lid. He would occasionally rub up against other stuff too. Maybe shedding?
If these dont work ill cave in and buy a bowl that have the ramp leading into it. Also there is only about 3-4 inches between where the heat lamp sits and that basking spot in the top right corner. Is that too close to the heat?
What I was thinking of doing was if it is too high, ill bury the bowl down in the substrate to where the top is even with the ground. And see if that works.
I just received bad news. They sent my Tegu out late. So he was at the fed ex facility since 6:54pm yesterday. And hes just leaving today. Will he be alright when he gets to me tomorrow?
Hey all. Im a soon to be proud new friend of a baby Tegu. While hes a baby ill be keeping him in a 36 x 18x 12 terrarium. Im expecting him today. So I decided to have his new living area ready to go when he gets here. I was told several times that the substrate cant be dry to get it damp. So...
