hey everyone just found out that my red has lost almost half of her tail. not sure how it happened but i think my blk/w had something to do with it. but i would like to know how to get it to heal up as fast as possible, if there is anything i can do...
dude thats a major bummer. im very sorry for your loss. ill definitly be keeping a closer eye on my red and blk&wht that are housed together.(been that way for over a year now). but mine are the same size almost exactly.

ok i was just wondering how long after waking from hibernation will a tegu get its appitite back. mine have only just awoke two days ago, and ive offered food both days but no response. is there a grce period i should give them or what. this is my first hibernation where my previus tegus were...
i too dont care for them i was just trying to convince my nefews mom not to use them as well. i bought two baby corns for them as birthday gifts and im trying to get them into certain habbits when it comes to the care of them. but thanks for the input. much appreciated.
hey gustavo the other guys probably forgot to mention that most owners use cypress mulch instead or bark so that the tegu can burrow easier and its not as hard.
hey everyone this will be my tegus' first winter and i was wanting them to hibernate so i got a few questions.
first do tegus go into hibernation naturally or do i need to lower the temps in the enclosure. and if so when is a good time to start?
and about how long do they hibernate for?
