I have a curiosity question more than anything else. Right now i have to repti-glow uvb lamps lighting my tegus 6x3x3 cage i just built for him. And im curious if there are any florescent bulbs out there would work for UVB other than the ones made for reptiles. IMO it just seems overly expensive...
So i did my weekly inspection of Monty's cage today. Where i go through and see if there are any buried droppings or urate that i might have gotten covered before i removed them. Also a good time to check the overall condition of the substrate too. Well i let Monty eat while i was doing this but...

Does anyone else find it amusing when their tegu plays with its own reflection. I found out this weekend that during a certain time at mid day the sun comes into the room where I am keeping him and turns one side of his enclosure into a mirror. It only last for about an hour or so but it is...
The little guy still doesn't have a name, but it looks like Monty will win out. When he arrived he started shedding so i tried to leave him alone till he was all nice and clean. Today he ate some egg and loved it these are pictures of him eating.
