Gadzooks the rescue iguana

So last Sunday I was getting ready to leave work and a coworker walks in with a cardboard box. Inside it was an iguana. She said she had gone out to bring in shopping carts for the night and that the box was just sitting in one and she was about to throw it out when she realized there was something moving inside. We can't take in abandoned animals at the store so I volunteered to take him since I was the only one there with any reptile experience.

The little guy appears outwardly to be malnourished and dehydrated so we gave him a nice long soak in the tub and a bowl of fresh veggies. He possibly has either some sort of skin condition or the previous owner just didn't give him proper humidity and he had shed problems.

I have him scheduled to go to the vet this coming Monday. I also took him over to a friend's house Tuesday night because she has 6 iguanas, 5 are rescues, and she has had them for 10 years. She helped me clean him up real good. He looked like a mummy afterwards, and unfortunately he came out 2 toes short. They were caked in old shed skin and black.

Mummified:

He is looking much better already. Here is a picture of him getting a bath today:
