is there a certin time when the growth spurt happens or is just random for every tegu?

It's random as far as I know. I can usually tell with how much they eat during feed times. If your tegu hibernates you can probably expect one shortly after waking up.

Yeah my guys didn't really go down last year, they kinda psuedo hibernated and when they did start eating a lot more, MAN DID GATOR GROW! He is as large as my 3 year old female now and growing (I believe her growth was stunted due to improper care).

Like rhetoricx i can tell with how much they eat, usually they eat 2x as much when a growth spurt is coming, its pretty much random, lol i think mines are going through one as we speak, hopefully the last one before hiberntion
