Have had my tegu since February, i can take him out of his cage and hold him and let him go around the inside of my house and he does great..but as soon as i let him outside to get real sun light he acts like he doesnt even know me and runs away real fast and when i go to catch him he hisses and charges me with his mouth wide open lol. when i put him on my porch for sun he does ok but when i let him go in the grass its all hell breaks loose. any suggestions?

When they're small they're food for other animals. When the are adults they're a bit higher up the food chain. We bring our adults outside and just plop them down in the yard. They'll wander around looking for food or a warm place to bask, but don't rub away.
