Is this normal?

I just recently got a hatchling chacoan from underground reptiles who to my suprise started eating right away. He isn't interested in anything besides crickets or frozen pinkies. The other day I was feeding him and playing with the pinkie a bit to really get him excited to eat. At one point I held the pinkie 2 feet or so above him and he jumped up and grabbed the pinkie out of my tongs. He is such an aggressive eater and I have started observing how acrobatic he can get during the day. Is it normal for them to be so aggressive during feeding and so acrobatic?

Sounds very hungry. He should be able to eat his fill. A weird landing could break a tail or worse.

I always feed until he stops eating and he gets fed twice daily. Although now that you mention it I am going to stop making him worm for his food. I would hate for him to hurt himself.
