My parents just changed their minds about getting me a tegu because they didn't realize they live so long and I'm going to college in a few years. Did any of you get your tegu before college and what did you do with it? Any suggestions? I had my heart set on a tegu, and they said yes at first, and now I'm really upset.

Sorry to hear about this. One option I've seen people do is to live at home while they are in college and take care of their tegu that way. It won't be very practical if you're going to live in the dorms though. Most apartments and rentals are OK with reptiles though. There are some options out there... Keep your mind open and see what you can do.
