    Our tegu, Sam, has passed

I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you for raising a lovely B&G to break the stereotype. RIP Sam! You were a beautiful Tegu. I hope your hearts heal soon. ~Lauren

I have a question about Tegus, Do You have the answer im searching for?

I have a Comombian Gold Tegu! Yeah, they're a little more flighty but people saying they can't be tamed is hogwash. Mine lets me pick her up and she loves being zipped in my jackets. Her favorite spot is my sholder. Mine's about 2 1/2 feet, and she'll fill out more. They're insanely...

    Tazia! :)

Thanks everyone :D Tazia is short for Anastasia. I like the shorter verson better though, so I went with Tazia. My friends call her Tasha though. Haha The bones are removed when I give her gizzards. She likes them floppy so she can fling them around :D

    Tazia! :)

Why thank you! :D I think she's a pretty girl. She checks herself out in the mirror all the time so I assume she agrees :P Lol...THB she was a ***** lizard when I first got her. She still has her days. I've had her maybe 1 1/2 months and she's much friendlier than when I first got her. Not...

    Help with a Colombian?

Lol...funny you said that about facebook posts. I was so tired of seeing them I told people I would start taking them off my friends list if I saw it again. Good to know! I should be more patient. Also happy she doesn't bite. She's still pretty young, probably 20-22 inches. I'll give her more...

    Help with a Colombian?

Yes yes I've read they're hard to tame. But in other forums people say it can be done, and I'm determined to try. Taz doesn't gape but she does get a little hissy. She doesn't charge but she also doesn't like me. Lol I haven't had her long but we have our good days and bad days. Today...

8 hour days?... Wish i was a tegu....

Tazia does that too! After she eats she goes, basks all sprawled out like a dog on a porch, drinks some water then burrows. Like clock work. For Halloween I'm thinking about being a Tegu just so I can call into work and tell them I can't come in; it was just dinner, now it's nap time.

    Taming a B&G Teggy

Thank you both! She's already doing much better. She's no longer terrified of me either, she just doesnt like being picked up too high off the ground. She's fattening up as well, her back legs look normal now instead of loose skin and her hip bones are much less skeletal. I'll post more pics of...

    Taming a B&G Teggy

Hi everyone, I adopted a baby B&G tegu! She was skinny when I got her but I can hold her now without her hissing at me. She's still pretty flighty though. I can tell she's still nervous because she is eating but still not as much as I think she should be. My beardie is more food aggressive than...
