    New here

Welcome! My advice would be to throw down the money and get an Argentine b&w tegu. I keep a Gold Tegu and there's nothing wrong with them it just takes so much time working with those Gold Tegus. They're a lot more cautious than argentines, or Red Tegus, Blue Tegus. Just my opinion, I love...

My Gold Tegu is a bit odd

Now I noticed that since I've moved his enclosure to the Garage he has basically reset almost everything I've done for him to tame down. As I mentioned in my other thread about the fluke eggs and other parasites he had cleared up after I took him to the vet...Today he got me right on my...

Fluke eggs and floral count too high. Prolapsing

Update: Austin is in fact a Male, I described to the vet what I saw was two things coming out of his vent area. She said that is his epipenis? Sp? And sometimes they tend to prolapse that as it goes back inside the vent. She also said that my primary vet cleaned up the flukes, so I don't have...

Fluke eggs and floral count too high. Prolapsing

So I took Austin to the vet here recently about 3 weeks ago and I was prescribed Panacur 10%. The dr did the first dose, gave Austin a shot in the arm and the instructions said to give the first dose 2 weeks after first dose, and the last dose 1 week after the second dose. Which I've done, now I...

New golden tegu- am I doing this right??

It's normal behavior, it just takes time. Honestly I think you're doing a good job. Mine was just like this and it took me 9 months but it sounds like your initial approach is better than mine.

My Gold Tegu is a bit odd

Here he is again, letting me hold him on command basically. Pretty much doesn't fight anymore by wiggling and speed walking away from me in his enclosure. I'm able to just scoop up and gently lift him up slowly while talking to him. What a point to get to here! Several times I thought about...

My Gold Tegu is a bit odd

Update he is approx 9 months old now. He's just about turned into a complete sweetie. I'm pretty sure it is a he but kinda 50% about it. He is way too big for his enclosure now so hopefully animal plastics will ship the 96×48x48 I ordered for the rest of his life!! I'm super excited to get it...

My Gold Tegu is a bit odd

He flew out of his enclosure today running away from me, I've seen this movie before... As I try to gently get him back into my hands he scurries away into the darkness under my Beardies tank stand, it is a nice confined space he feels comfortable with but I can't let him roam because I can't...

My Gold Tegu is a bit odd

Hi everyone I'm keeping Austin in a 4x2 foot enclosure, he's still a baby and I bought him as a hatchling at a repticon in August. I fill the enclosure with the bioactive soil/mulch stuff I bought at the pet store. It's more of a 70/30, the basking site is 130-135. My humidity is always usually...
