Davedragon,
This is the second time she escapes.
The first time I luckily found her one week after by the side of the road; 2 miles from the house.
She was hungry too, I gave her ground turkey and put her inside a duffel bag; before taking her back home.
That's when I repaired her cage.
I found her. My dog did. He started barking and didn't stop until i came out in the yard and saw Bubba crawling, looking for food. She was missing for 5 days, and ate some turkey breast, a raw egg and went to sleep. I posted a video of the burrow she dug outside her cage.
Wear a shirt and make sure your sweat gets in it. Then place it inside the enclosure for a week, only after that, put your arm inside and wait until your tegu makes skin contact. Now he is ready to be handled.
Hi tegu '82.
I have a b/w female who used to keep to herself at all times. She was aggressive during chow time and somehow territorial, but after spending time with her I discovered a very quiet and curious reptile.
She is very laid back and trustful.
You can add Calcium to anything your tegu will eat. Preferably moist food before adding a little calcium on it. You don't need D3 if you are raising your tegu under natural sunlight conditions.
I believe she is very healthy, except for a little orange spot on her left chin which shows on and off. :chin
I took care of a bit of skin left around her fingers with a cotton ball and baby oil, also we increase the humidity in her enclosure and weather has been helping 'cause it rained...
