Sliding door in snake cage could never be safe. As there is little gap between two slides which help the snakes to come out. The best option for snake cages are folding door that are sealed well and never allow any kind of snake to come out.
In case of outdoor enclosure there is big risk of rain. But it could be overcome simply by covering it with plastic. Using of glass in the enclosure is little dangerous as if it broken it could harm the tegu. Temperature in side glass cage is always different that is difficult to maintain.
Outdoor cage is better because of indoor cage are dangerous. As if door of cage remain open tegu can harm you. But in outdoor there is need of proper care according to season requirement and cover it in cold and wind season with proper shield.
There are two option for cage door either sliding or folding. It depends on cage size whether small or large . For larger one sliding door are good but smaller cage could not afford sliding as there is space issue in them.
