Thanks, Laura;
I've had so many problems with my password not working on this site; sorry so long for the reply:)
The shaking has gone away. I'm still giving her daily calcium, & have replaced my UV bulb, but the problem now is that she STILL won't eat on her own. Anything!! I have to...
That's a great story:)[hr]
Understandable; I was bit by a gerbil as a kid--my dad brought it home & I reached in the box, it latched on my finger & wouldn't let go! Never liked gerbils since. When I worked at a pet store, we would use the mean gerbils & hamsters as feeders.
Thanks Laura! I appreciate any help I can get with getting her to eat:)
She's not doing so well...she had no indications of MBD before the surgery, and now her legs keep twitching! I'm giving her high concentrate calcium syrup I got from the vet, but she's not improving enough.
I'm so upset...
That is a pretty cool story; yeah, it's easier when they're F/T, bc I just view them as food at that point. You got your money's worth out of that one!![hr]
You skin them? Is it difficult to do? That's a good idea; one I've definitely never heard before![hr]
I've kind of thought that it...
Awwww, I tried that once myself. The mother instinct is pretty strong; I figured it wouldn't make it, so I brought it back to the store, told them I tried to feed it, & the guy turned around & threw it into a cage with a baby monitor!![hr]
I never thought I'd have pet mice, or that they'd even...
Just out of curiosity;
How many of you have pet mice because your tegu didn't eat and you ended up keeping them as pets? I usually feed frozen, but my Argentine red baby was on a hunger strike, & I tried a small live mouse, which he bit, but then let go. The mouse was so cute, that the next day...
I know the egg thing is true for my Gabriel; she's wayyyy too addicted to eggs!! I don't have any experience with the aggressive behavior, bc she's never been...I've had her a year and a half now, & when I first got her, she was squirmy, but would never try to bite. She's very calm, especially I...
Sure, I will post a pic soon, if I can figure out how to do it!!
And "he" is definitely a "she"...I kind of thought so, bc of her size and lack of jowls, but was so used to calling her a "he" that I just kept doing it...now I know that she has ovaries, so I can't ignore that fact!! She's doing...
Thanks again, Bubblz; I know, it's hard not to worry:)
Wow, this is strange...they did the surgery, and the vet said he had huge fat deposits that were actually cramming his organs and making it look like he's bloated! He removed some of them; but what could cause that?? And what if it happens...
Thanks for responding, Tegu Dude. I'm looking for someone that can meet me in the northwest Atlanta area, as I'd rather meet the person first and have them meet her...
