he is just over 2 feet long, (bit of a guess, but he is a nice size

I know that male B&W have spurs at the base of their tail, but i'd like to know when they become visible enough to allow "accurate" sexing. Currently my juvi b/w has no real visible spurs but i can feel two little bumps on each side of his? tail. do females have smaller non-visible spurs or...

I'm right next to the santiago canyon fire. I can see the flames just by walking out side, thankfully my city hasn't had to be evacuated. The winds have died down so I think it should be contained fairly well from now on. All the smoke and ash is killing me though!! :x
Since you just got him/her (yesterday i believe?) i would let your tegu adjust to its new home for about a week or so. Then let the taming process begin. Basically do what varnyards artcle on taming says, it really does work. you may have to make some adjustment based on your tegu's personality...

I would say they are as "calm" as a tegu. they certainly don't try to bite but they are more energetic, its actually quite a thrill to just watch them run around :lol: . they are definitely the way to go when it comes to beginner varanid species.
definitely keep with the neosporin. They don't seem to look too bad especially if it is only occuring on one foot. Tegus seem to heal fast and with proper care that should heal up quite fast and nicely. Don't know about the stretch marks either lol i think a closer pic would help out, i can't...
