Actually, Tora is correct. This is a common mistake for people to make and is why many dogs are in the vets office because of feeding them cooked meat with bones.

If I use anything for night heat in the spring its a red bulb. This way I can visually check to see if it is on or not. I only use it in the outdoor boxes I have made for yearling and two year old tegus, not much insulation.
I would go to a window/glass/door company. Easy. You could also look on Craigslist or in the news paper for old display cases (sometimes found on the back side of strip malls) and take the rail out of one.

If I have any mouse/rat left and I can't find someone to eat it I put it in the fridge and feed it a couple of days later. Never had a problem with this although I always let my rats/mice thaw at room temperature.

This is a foot locker. I get them many different places, Fred Myer, Wal-Mart, Army Surplus store.... Doesn't have to be anything special, just soemthing to do the job of housing him while he sleeps.
