Hello fellow Tegu lovers!
My name is Rachel, I hold a M.S. in Biology with a specialization in Ecology and Invasive species management. I have worked with, studied, and owned reptiles for over 25 years. I am 2 years into my own research project partnered with FWS that is comparing the invasive Homestead FL tegu population to captive bred populations. I have also worked with and owned tegus for over 10 years, we currently have 5 (most of which are rescues). I work alongside many others involved in tegus, and personally recommend Hector of Hector's Habitat, and Rodney of Tegus Only.
My work is also supported by a reptile veterinarian who approves my methodology, two Ecology professors, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Service- Biological Invasion Division. Me and my vet developed a care sheet that is free to everyone and available upon request, just send me a message! I am here to provide sound advice based on my experiences and scientific evidence, but if I take too long to get back to you... "RoadKill" is a very helpful person on this site as well!
Cheers, and please remember to be a responsible pet owner!!!!!!
