I have been reading a lot about tegu's but i read a lot of different things...And i just want to do everything right.

1. They say you should never feed your tegu anything alive (i thought because of their feeding response) but a lot of people recommend feeding young tegu's crickets? or do you feed them out of a pincet?

2. I found a site were i can buy whole prey, organ meat and salmon (per 1 kg= 2 pounds?). How much do they eat in a month? If i know this i can estimate the cost.

3. I once heard from a snake breeder that rats are more nutritious than mice? would it be better to feed fuzzy rats?

4. I normally work with the a thermostat and a ceramic heater and led's, this also keeps the cost down.
But i heard that the Solar Raptor heaters are really good (uv and heat in one) But i can't use them with a thermostat, how do you make sure that the themperature wont get to high or to low?
