Sounds off to me. 78 cm equals 30.7 inches and 1kg equals a little more than a pound. If he truly is over 30 inches long then hopefully he weighs more than a pound. Post some pictures if you could....we would love to see him!

Hi Kimmie! Cookie is beautiful. I dont think you could ever take too many pictures of him!
I noticed that you have a heat rock in his enclosure. I would highly recommend taking it out. They can be dangerous for your Cookie. Many animals have severe burns from these rocks. A nice piece of slate under the basking light will do just fine. I hope you dont take this the wrong way, but I also think you need to start looking for a larger enclosure for him. His tank is VERY nicely decorated, but way too small for him. Please dont feel as if I am picking on you. I also had my guys in an enclosure that was too small, and thanks to the advice I was given on this forum I learned that they really thrive in a proper sized cage. Most recommed an 8x4x4 enclosure although some feel 6x3x3 can suffice assuming they are out alot. Cookie looks very happy...keep up the good work!

1 kg = 2.2 pounds. Looking at the pics, I don;t see the signs of an underweight animal. No loose bunches of skin, base of the tail appears to be good and thick. Nice tegu.

@ dragonmetalhead.... wasn't saying that the tegu was underweight. And i apologize to Kimmie if it came off that way. Hadn't even seen the pictures yet. I made the mistake of believing a co worker who told me a kilo was equivalent to a little more than a pound. The tegu does look extremely healthy and plump.
@ frost........lol. I was actually thinking the same thing originally!

Hiya Tommy and tyvm I dont take it offence I am planing on getting him a larger cage after I got my new PC :D I love buying something new but Cookie loves his heat rock can it get replaced with something else that he maybe can love ? ^^ the black lamp you see it not a 100% basking lamp it is a riptile sun the only thing I know is it is a heat lamp but it also good with light is it also a basking lamp? ^^

You can get a flat, dark rock and place it under his basking light. He might enjoy laying on that as well.

Maybe I missed some info before, but you have a UVB light and his basking area has temps of 110-115? Having heat from above is more natural than heat from below and will help with his dependence on the heat rock.

I have a riptile sun atm the 3 other light lamps fills alot so I only have that one spot left but maybe I should put a spot lamp in instead of the ripti sun ? ^^
