Ceder comes in different species all bad for your tegu ..

Keep looking it`s spring and you could find some ..

If not buy some coir ... Coconut fiber ... You can find it at hardware stores or plant nursery..

You can try looking for hemlock mulch, I use that for Guru's enclosure.
The other tegus have a coco-fiber/top soil mix.

You can use a top soil/sand mix as well. This is what I use and I am very happy with it.

Fir is as bad as pine for your tegu ..

Hemlock is a white wood like aspen more suited to rats than tegus and their humidity loving nature ...

Bricks of coir ...

Guru has only been on hemlock with me. Hes about a year old so hes been on it for 10-11 months. No issues, I still mist his cage daily for humidity but hes healthy. The other two are on topsoil

Yeah I would avoid pine.

The mulch I have is super fine, I got it from a bark company. No additives or anything like that
