[attachment=3302]. Nom Nom Nom.

I know. Eating in his tank. I'm not home long enough to feed them in a box and all the times I've tried it was fruitless.

I feed guru in the enclosure. Just be careful! I try to feed him on an elevated flat rock, I'll put his dish on that. Sometimes he drags his food through the mulch but we haven't had any issues so far. I'm glad hes finally eating for you!

Feeding in a cage has always worked for me. My tegus show zero signs of food aggression. I try to either put the food in when they're not looking (sleeping) or on the other side of the cage. My tegus pretty much eat at their leisure--they're never starving so they never storm the door when I open it--there's no reason for them to do so.

Guru got his first mouse pinky when he was 10 inches and only a few weeks old. I didn't feed him too many pinkies, I think he only had them for a week before he moved on to fuzzies. Fuzzies are better nutrition-wise than pinkies. I think most smaller tegus could take a fuzzy, how large is your tegu? You can always try a smaller fuzzy.

I put the food in in the morning when I turn on the light. They are still in the hide sleeping. Dozer still will not eat rats or bugs. Tried yesterday to feed both of them some dubias in a tote. Nope.

The food dish is ontop of a chunk of plywood that's on top of the hide. So food only gets in the substrate if they drag or fling it. So far not happening. And today when dex was swallowing it.

Are they doing better? Shaking still? Odd dozer still wont touch that stuff hopefully he'll develop a taste for it as he ages. Glad dexters figured out how yummy they are!

No more twitching. It was a heat issue. Too hot.
