Doesn't Like Turkey!?

Did a search for this but dont really seem to find much on it.
My new tegu does not seem to like turkey at all, took one small bite of it when i first got him and wont touch any of it since. All I can get him to eat so far are crickets and the occasional superworm. '

I got him to eat a piece of chicken liver today, doesnt seem to want to touch the beef liver (he may be full though).

Is this normal?
And I am going to try to get him some pinkies/fuzzies soon to give a few times a week for the added calcium.

It happens,.. just keep offering different foods and take a break from turkey for while. Are you adding CLO to the turkey, if so how much? Sometimes they don't like it if there's too much in it.

I have been adding CLO and Calcium to it. But I tried to give him turkey without the CLO and he wasn't having that either.

The same goes for calcium powder,.. too much and they may not eat it. I don't know if you've seen the food list here yet but there are plenty of other foods to offer besides turkey.

Other considerations would be the time of year and how full or hungry your tegu may be at that time. It could be getting ready to hibernate or brumate, if it brumates it may still eat, come out and bask or drink just not as much or as often.

For the first 2 months, my gu would ignore everything but crickets. When she got a little bigger, she started to much down turkey and ignored the crickets. So Id just wait, and try different foods from time to time.

I agree with bubblz&aardbark I had a gu a while back who would not touch anything but hard boiled eggs and mice was a real pain but kept offering it lol and after 4 or 5 months sttarted eating turkey out of the blue. Hopefully yours don't have some grudge against it. My extreme won't touch seafood (shrimp, tilapia, silversides ect.) But my hybrid absolutely loves it lol

As the guu gets older and grows and the fall/winter seasons pass their appetite increases through the roof and they begin eating pretty much anything they can find. The first summer you own a tegu with definately shock you, growth, appetite, activness, etc
