golden tegu?

Hi I am just wondering what the difference between a red and a golden tegu? I just bought a red and hes awesome. Wondering if gold is a different species and if they are more prone to be mean like the Columbian?

A problem with common names only- they innocently or intentionally mislead a buyer. Your red is its own species, T. rufescens. Argies are T. merianae. Golden and Columbian are the same species, T. teguixin. If you hear "black and whie" only, watchout. Could be an argie black and white (merianae) or a Columbian black and white- teguixin.

For an easy to tame dragon dog, stick with argies and reds.
