I held my first hot today at the vet clinic... she was a beautiful ridgenose rattlesnake that needed slugs removed from her ovarian tissue. Before you criticize me for being "too young" or "not experienced enough", let me say that I was under the supervision of Dr. Todd Driggers, the #1 herp vet in Arizona and a skilled snake handler. He walked me through every safety precaution imagineable to ensure the safety of me and the snake. I realize that I was using a three-finger viper grip instead of a knuckle grip, but she was still a little woozy from the isoflorane and wasn't liable to twist her head and tag my thumb.

These were taken during the surgery. I'm the one that's not scrubbed down because it was an emergency call and I didn't have time to change.
