HELP need to distinguish between..

hey all, im new to the site, i currently have two black and white tegus, ill have to post some pictures later, but i have an immediate issue,

see i was searching the local ads, and i found this guy getting rid of an "argentine" tegu i belive its a Columbian but i cant be 100% i need someone to help me and give me a positive answer, quickly please ill post some pictures

That looks like a Columbian to me but there is a way to accurately tell from the scales on its face if he'll send you a close up!

definitely a Colombian! watch out, a Colombian gold? They've got a pretty nasty reputation unfortunately.

heres a link with a pic of each, showing you the differences in both. to make sure i would ask for more pictures or closer shots of the head/upper body.

I'd think it was a columbian alone based on the markings and coloration (see how he's banded as opposed to spotted at that age?)and they just look overall different to me physically I could be completely wrong, but I agree ask for pics of the snout to do a loreal scale count.....

thank you everyone for the responses, i figure its a colombian, im not too intrested in it i wasnt to save it from this guy cause he clearly doesnt know how to take care of it correctly, i agree thats a small rat, way to big for that small guy, on top of all of that the poor little guy lost his tail.
