Help with my new Tegu?

View attachment 9351 I rescued him/her about a month ago and was told it was a Monitor? I think he/she looks like a Tegu but I am new to any animal being in my home. Can anyone help me?

Thank you so much... Luckily they are pretty close to Monitors so not much changes in how I care for her.

no they are fairly different. behavior wise and how they feed wise

I was meaning as far as lighting and the other supplies that put a small dent in my pocket. I've only had her a few weeks, she was left alone with no food/water for close to a month and only a purple basking light. While I was researching started noticing she was not a Monitor. Her head was the first thing that had me questioning exactly what she was. This site saved me a lot of stress and answered all my questions just by reading past post. So thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences, it helped tremendously with her rescue.
