Hibernation/ Taming question

Before hibernation he let me get close to him and pet him and now when ever i pull back the lid he runs to his hide. i got him back in fall and he was a couple months old then so i think he is about 7 months now and he has finally came out of hibernation. should i even bother trying to hold him now or just start from the beginning with the clothing item and just working around in the cage. I cant just let my had sit in there becasue the cage is pretty high on a stand and i just cant stand there and doing that. so if anyone can give me some advice or faster way to get him more comfortable itd be great. ik soon as he is done hiding and i walk away he comes out right away.

Thanks

Zack

Mine was the same way when she came out of hybernation. Kinda had to start at the begining again. I cant put my hand in the cage and stand there either, so I would pick her up and hold her in my lap. She is much less squirmy now.

There's no quick fix, you may have to start over to get him to come around and trust you again. On another note since he just came out of hibernation it will take him some time to adjust. He may remember and revert back to old ways easier if you continue with the usual routine.

It could really go either way, you have to start over or pic up where you left off.

alright yeah that makes sense, like some days i can pick him up but i dont go chasing him but i take him out to feed him live mice but i feed him fruit in the cage so he isnt hissing or anything like that anymore.
