My girl tegu refuses chicken livers but eats most everything else I offer. My boy tegus will inhale them. If a tegu refuses a food should that be all I offer that day or should I offer them something else? I know their somewhat smart, do you think they would pick up on something like that?
Today she refused them, I offered them a little while later and she refused them, I offered them a third time and she ate a little lol.

You can alway take the liver and grind it up and mix it will the turkey or mix it with something esle they eat. thats what i do with the liver

I'll try that. I got a bunch of it from safeway the other night, I think I ended up with like 5-ish pounds... I don't feed them liver too often so I have most of it in the freezer.

lol, it took my girl a while to get used to having a freezer that is over half full of dead things (rats, mice, chicks, etc)... but she adapted well ;)

Generally speaking, I wouldn't force a food on my Tegu. I do my best to offer a variety of foods and I guess if he doesn't eat something he doesn't like/need it and I don't offer it very often.

Alright cool. I try to offer as varied of a diet as I can. I wasn't sure if I let her be picky, if she would learn to refuse one food and get something better instead. S/he hasn't refused anything else besides the liver. The first few times she had refused it I had given her turkey instead.
